High School Musical Jr. is a fun, energetic show that’s perfect for students of all interests and experience levels. With catchy songs, tons of roles, and a relatable story about being yourself and working together, it’s a great way to build confidence, make new friends, and create something amazing as a team. Come be part of the fun—because we're all in this together!

 About the Project:

We’re inviting everyone to sign up to be part of High School Musical Jr.—not just for lead roles, but for the full experience! Our creative team are experts at making sure every cast member has a great time, whether you’re in a lead role or part of the ensemble, we’re going to put EVERYONE in the spotlight! This show is all about teamwork, energy, and having fun together—so no matter your role, you’ll be an essential part of something amazing.

In return for committing to the project, we promise you an unrivalled experience being coached by our insanely talented and nurturing team; Jill Neenan, Musical Director, Alana Asher, Assistant Director and Choreographer plus, of course, Producer/Director Danielle Gaglione.

During the rehearsal process we schedule lots of activities for everyone so if you don’t get cast in a lead role, we guarantee that you won’t be sitting around feeling bored.

What is the Casting Day?

The Casting Day is when the magic begins! On Saturday 12th July, we’ll bring all participants together for a fun-filled session of games, singing, dancing, and acting – the perfect way to break the ice and start building those all-important bonds. Anyone hoping for a lead or featured role will have the chance to sing a solo and read a short script in front of the group. Don’t worry – it’s all very supportive and fun! Around three weeks before Casting Day, we’ll send out the music so you can get familiar with the song ahead of time and feel confident going in.

FAQs

Q: My child/teen only wants to participate if they are cast in a lead role. What happens if they’re not?
A: We ask that all participants commit to the project as a whole, rather than only if cast in a specific role. While lead and featured roles are limited, every participant will have a meaningful opportunity to shine—particularly through our exciting ‘pre-show’, where ensemble members can create and perform original characters and scenes. If your child chooses not to continue after the Casting Day, they may withdraw in accordance with our refund policy.

Q: We’d love to join but can’t attend the casting day. What should we do?
A: Just let us know on the registration form, and we’ll reach out with details on how to submit a digital audition instead.

Q: My child is interested but can’t make every rehearsal or performance. Can they still be involved?
A: Absolutely! We welcome all participants, though lead and featured roles are reserved for those who can attend all performances. Be sure to note any availability issues on the registration form.

Q: How do I pay?

A: There are two instalments to pay; the first secures your place in the show, the second covers the remaining balance and is payable by 30th June 2025. If you pay but your plans change and your child can no longer take part, please refer to our refund policy. If you have a discount code, these should be used on the FIRST payment instalment.

Q: My child is very nervous about the casting day – what can they expect?
A: It’s completely normal to feel nervous—most of us do! Our team creates a warm, supportive environment with fun games and activities to help everyone relax. There’s absolutely no pressure to do anything anyone is uncomfortable with—we’re here to make it an enjoyable experience for all.

Q: My child is very specific about the costumes or clothes they want to wear – how will this be dealt with by the creative team?

Please provide as much info about your child as possible when completing the registration form so we can ensure we provide the best experience for them. At Dramarama we will never pressure a child to do anything they don’t want to do but for the purposes of the West End Experience production, we do expect everyone to wear a costume appropriate for their character. For example, if they won’t wear a skirt, please let us know so we don’t buy them a cheerleader costume. Thanks!

Q: We heard this project was running in Chesham but now it is in Wendover. What happened?

A: Unfortunately our agreement with our Chesham venue couldn’t be fulfilled so we have found this amazing alternative, performing at a bigger and grander theatre and rehearsing in our usual Dramarama venue in Wendover. For those who want to come from Chesham we will put you in touch with other families travelling from Chesham and surrounds so you can share lifts. Please provide details in the Registration form

Q: Do you offer wraparound care for early-drop off or late pick up?

A: Please confirm that you are interested in wraparound care in the Registration form and we will endeavour to meet everyone’s needs

Q: Are you looking for adults or older teenagers to get involved with running the show?

A: Absolutely! If you’d like to volunteer as a helper or chaperone for the performances we’ll need as many hands on deck as possible so please let us know on the application form – especially if you have a DBS certification or chaperone licence! If you don’t have a DBS certificate we can advise on getting one organised. Shows like this are reliant upon parent/carer helpers so please come and get involved – it really is a wonderful thing to be a part of.
